(This thread is based off "Alien Planet", an interesting fictional movie.)

30 years have passed since 2014. It is now 2044. Probes Davinci and Newton, have explored planet Darwin IV, the fourth planet in a binary system called "Darwin". Darwin is located 2.5 miles away from our solar system. The probes' transmissions have reached Earth, and the time for studying is over. Earth has sent human explorers to Darwin. Their equipment is unique, because of the dangerous creatures and landscape. It is erroneous to send a SOS message to Earth, transmissions take six years. You're on your own.

~Animals~
Cellular organisms.
Gyrosprinter:Fast, agile. Able to change directions very quickly. Two times the size of a Thompson gazelle.
Arrowtongue:Large, the size of a T-Rex. Walks on two legs, eyes are postioned lizardlike. Blue bioluminescent scales. An arrowlike tongue, tentacle feelers on it's backside.
Trunk suckers:Small beings, red bioluminescent lighted skin on its feelers. Able to fly, they fly up to trees and attach to them, the nutrient rich trees on Darwin IV provide excellent food.
Unts:Beings the size of a buffalo. Scaly, they have dorsal vents, which allow them to create the aggresive sound they are named for. Example_1:UNT! host tusks and black eyes.
Bladder horns:Large creatures, the size of a giraffe. Bioluminescent antlers, used for aggresive movements. Major source of communication=Sound. Scientific breakthrough. Fast. Blue.
Dagger wrists:Creatures the size of foxes. Well named, host large bladelike wrists. Used for climbing. Main prey is the Trunk sucker. Red Bioluminescent back. Vulture-like beak.
Grove backs:Extremely large creatures, five stories high. Feed on the ground nutrients, stay hidden for decades at times, but cause a gigantic earthquake when they rise. Trees on their backs give them sugars to jump start them. Loud burp-like gurgles. Stay clear.
Jet darters:Small scavengers, size of crows. Red. No eyes, nor wings. Propelled by methane gases.
Skewers:Large, Large birds. 50 feet long. Hawk-like. Propelled by methane, almost like a jet. Titanium-tough hide. Named for it's tongue, hunts other animals by it's barbed thorn tongue, skewering the toughest hide, and draining the creature of fluids.
Prong heads:Wolf-like, dinosaur hide. Bioluminscent spots on it's back, prong-like head. Fast, twice the size of a wolf. Main prey=Gyrosprinter.
Beach quills:Small, stationary animals that are rooted to the ground like a plant, but shoot deadly toxins. VERY dangerous. Stay clear at all times.
Ameobic sea:This sea is a living entity. It is not water at all. Jello-like tentacles reach up to grab low flying creatures, or land animals. DO NOT CROSS ON FOOT! Use a shuttle.
Emperor Sea Strider:The Emperor Sea Strider is peaceful. The LARGEST creature on Darwin. seven stories high. Stay out of the way. Is friendly, if you travel with it, it will wait for you. Little young, also friendly, but stupid.
Litteralope:Two headed cowlike creatures, only much faster. Dinosaur like. Best defense is to scatter in all directions. Rather stupid, not very interesting.
~Fauna~
Nutrient rich trees.
Moss.
Sparse long grass.
Dangerous mushrooms. Stay away.
Mountain lichen.
~Geography~
Mountainous savanna.
~SENTIENT CREATURES~
Eosapien:Eosapiens are the most advanced life form on Darwin IV, with the intelligence of early humans such as Homo Neanderthalensis. They float in mid-air by using two bags filled with methane gas. Eosapiens have long fingers that they use to manipulate objects such as spears and create formations on the ground. They live in small tribes and hunt the other creatures on the planet.
They are one of Darwin IV's
predators, and they both hunt on and are hunted by Skewers.

Bio:Not boarding the Firefly like the other explorers, but was born aboard. Educated by the on-system computer. Born six years in on the twenty year trip. He was put in a hibernation pod. Being let out, he finds the date 2044. It is the year they arrive at Darwin. Little does he know that the arrival is one day away.
