Seriously. My inbox never had 77 unread messages after one week. All of them were things saying I got replied to on the forums. Now I forgot my Deviant account password... XD

You only get E-Mail reminderers of a new PM message, thread post, etc, etc. You can choose to unwatch the thread, but I don't think you can choose if you get a E-Mail if you got a new PM.
To unwatch a thread, click "Stop Watching This Topic" In the very bottom right corner of the page.
